Santa's Summerhouse

You know Santa Claus. He is the best known person in Finland. He lives in Rovaniemi, Arctic Circle, but he also has a hideaway cottage in the middle of the forest near Helsinki.

But have you ever wondered what he does in the summertime?
Now is your chance to see what Santa gets up to and experience some Finnish traditions in the beautiful forest surroundings of Korpilampi.

Enjoy the beautiful lake nature of Finland whilst learning about Finnish flora and fauna, follow the path further and you will discover all the peculiarities of Santa Claus. Of course you will have a chance to meet him in person in his summer cottage, which is not an ordinary cottage…

Santa Claus has a real smoke sauna – the core of Finnish heritage and tradition. Sauna Elf will enlighten you to the traditions and history of the Finnish sauna and you can help with some preparation for Santa's sauna.

Availability: Weekly departures on Thursdays starting from the 17th of June 2010
Reservation: previous day until 4PM at the latest

  • the welcoming of an elf
  • introducing the smoke sauna
  • introducing Santa’s Summer house and a meeting with Santa
  • making Christmas decorations
  • games at the yard of the summer house
  • grilled sausages
  • Elf shop
  • a walk around the pond (guided tour)

 Programme duration: 3,5 hours with transportation
